For over two decades, I built a successful career playing by the rules. My strategy was simple: under-promise, over-deliver and let the results speak for themselves. That approach earned me recognition, the opportunity to lead high-performing teams and a strong reputation for delivering excellence.
As I stepped into senior management, I noticed a shift. Despite consistently delivering outcomes, the opportunities for further advancement began to slow. My once reliable strategy stopped opening doors.
What I wish I had known then was this: once you reach senior levels, the rules of the game change.
Success becomes less about personal output and more about the ability to mobilize a team. Leadership becomes less about doing and more about influence, trust and relationships.
I came to this realization during a time of intense pressure and overcommitment. In order to meet the demands of my role, I had to release control and fully empower my team. Trusting their capabilities allowed them to rise, and in doing so, they exceeded expectations.
That pivotal experience ignited a deeper purpose within me: to help ambitious women embrace their full leadership potential, define what trusted leadership means for them, and advance without compromising who they are.
I created the Leadership Audit as a powerful first step. It provides immediate clarity on the behaviours supporting your growth and those that may be quietly holding you back from advancement.
Today, as a certified leadership coach and founder of Coach for Success, I support high-achieving women in navigating the transition to senior leadership. My work is dedicated to helping them lead with courage, humanity and authenticity—while transforming the organizations they help shape.
